Tamara Knapp is a visual artist and graphic designer combining tools, constructing graphic systems, and creating experimental visual works. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Visual Communications at Bauhaus-University Weimar after training as a photographer in Heidelberg. Since 2021, she has been teaching under the "Space for Visual Research" in the graphic design department at Bauhaus-University Weimar. Additionally, from 2023-2024, she has been working in the Department of Digital Media and Experiment at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Bielefeld.

In her work, Knapp places great value on interdisciplinarity, ensuring that related disciplines in art and design intersect with thematic elements from natural, human, and scientific fields. This intersection becomes evident in the thematic implementation of her projects. She finds her vocation in creating and documenting new perspectives within her visual investigations of natural phenomena, combining her visual and graphical expertise. She often draws inspiration from inconspicuous, everyday materials and explores the intangible interaction between form and formlessness.

In her research, artistic practice, and educational endeavors, she delves into the intersection of technological systems and natural aesthetics. She investigates how digital technologies can both reflect and shape our understanding of the human form. Her work often examines the blending of organic and synthetic forms, questioning the boundaries between the natural and the artificial.
