VISUAL PERFORMANCE

JOHANN2 is a visual performance created for an electronic and classical concert in Leipzig. The visual language brings together the sacred atmosphere of historic church imagery with the aesthetics of technology, code and digital abstraction.
Ancient symbols, architectural references and contemporary digital structures overlap and transform throughout the performance, creating a visual space between the spiritual and the technological. The imagery responds to the music and builds a constantly shifting dialogue between past and future, analog and digital, ritual and computation.
The visual show was developed by Tamara Knapp and Lena Weber for performances at Paulinum and Werk 2 in Leipzig.
